CENTERBURG, OH, March 14 - Centerburg Local Schools Superintendent Ryan Gallwitz, is pleased to announce that Brent Garee has been named the new principal of Centerburg High School. The School Board voted unanimously on his approval at the March 13, 2023, meeting.

Currently serving as the principal of both Fredericktown Middle and High Schools, Mr. Garee replaces Mr. John Morgan, who is retiring after 34 years with the Centerburg district.

Mr. Garee holds more than 25 years of educational experience as a classroom teacher and administrator. Prior to his time in Fredericktown, he led the Eastland-Fairfield Career and Technical Schools for seven years. Before that, he spent 15 years as an English teacher at Watkins Memorial High School, Northridge High School, and Danville High School.

The focus Mr. Garee puts on progress and student learning was one of the main factors that made him right for the job. Upon acceptance of his new position, Mr. Garee stated, “I plan on working with the staff to keep up the progress they’ve made to improve student learning. I want to serve beside them in their effort to keep that momentum going.”

Garee holds a bachelor's degree in Secondary English Education from Miami University, a master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from MVNU, and received his administrator’s training from Ashland University.

Please join the Board of Education and Centerburg Local Schools in welcoming Mr. Brent Garee to his new position, and congratulating Mr. John Morgan on a successful career serving the families of the district.
